Jack Swift – Male Athlete of the Year

In his time as a stallion, Jack has definitely left his mark on the San Juan Hills football program.  Jack is the definition of a player who had a great attitude every day, an innate ability to take coaching and apply it to the field, and a maturity beyond his years that allowed him to be a team leader. He has an infectious personality and a tenacity on the field that is unmatched. Jack is the rare combination of great athlete, great student, and great person. He is humble and kind while also being a fierce competitor.

Jack was a 3-year letter winner for the Stallions. In this time his value and football IQ were evident as he played multiple positions in the defensive secondary. He was also durable, never missing a game fort the stallions. This was seen by other coaches as well and earned Jack the accolades of First Team All South Coast League, First Team Division 4 All CIF, and he was selected to play in the 2018 Orange County All-Star Football Game.

For his career, Jack had 133 tackles, 1 fumble recovery, 8 pass deflections, and 2 interceptions. The interception statistic is a little misleading because teams rarely threw to his side because of his ability.

As important as Jack was on the field, he was just as important off of the field. Jack was voted a team captain by his teammates and coaches and he provided valuable leadership for the football program as a whole. He carries a 4.1 GPA, is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and is an active member at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He has been on the superintendent and principal’s honor roll each semester of his high school career and he has been a spirit of the stallion and pride of the brand award recipient.

Jack will continue his education at SMU in the great state of Texas and we wish him the best.
