Rob Frith has been named Head Football Coach at San Juan Hills

Rob Frith has been named Head Football Coach at San Juan Hills High School. Coach Frith was the head coach at El Toro for six seasons from 2009-2014. During his time at El Toro, Coach Frith compiled a 40-18 record and led the Chargers to the playoffs in five of his six years at the helm. In 2011, he guided El Toro to a CIF Southwest Division runner-up finish. Coach Frith replaces Aaron Flowers, who was the head coach at SJH the last seven years.

Graduate and five-time varsity letterman (football and baseball) of San Clemente High School.

 

Earned multiple All-South Coast League honors in football and baseball. Earned All-CIF honors as a junior.

 

Attended Saddleback College and played football for the Gauchos.

 

Attended Whittier College where he was captain of both the football and baseball programs. Earned multiple All-SCIAC and Western Region Honors, and in 2001, earned All-American honors.

 

Named the 2001 Whittier College Male Athlete of the Year. Inducted into the Whittier College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.

 

After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Whittier College, Coach Frith returned to the college as a graduate assistant. Coach Frith completed his credential work and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Whittier College.

 

Began his football coaching career at Schurr High School in Montebello, where he worked as an assistant for Mike Mayoral.

 

Joined the El Toro Football and Baseball coaching staffs in 2006 and helped lead the El Toro Baseball program to the 2008 CIF-SS Division II Baseball Championship.

 

Took over the El Toro Football program in 2009 and guided the Chargers to the 2011 Southwest Division title game. 

 

Served for one year (2015-2016) as the El Toro High School Director of Athletics.

 

In 2016, helped assist the San Clemente Football program to CIF, Southern California, and State Championships.

 

Has taught Health, Physical Education, Adaptive Physical Education, and AVID in the California Public School Systems for the past 14 years.

 

Coach Frith has been married for 13 years to his wife Tara and has two children, daughter Taylor (12), and son Luke (9).
