Peter Carey has over eleven years of competitive coaching experience, and over 30 years playing experience, and will be going into his sixth year as the head coach at San Juan Hills High School.
Carey is also an assistant coach at Irvine Valley College with the men's & women’s program since 2009, the director for the California Premier League and Capistrano F.C. club programs since 2006.
He previously coached boys soccer at Capistrano Valley High School from 2008-2011, was the Capistrano Valley Christian girls varsity head coach from 2007-2008 and has also worked at the Chivas USA Academy, as well as with the San Juan Soccer League.
As a youth, Carey played for the Original San Clemente Soccer Club coached by Clyde Best (West Ham United), Martin McGrogan (Coventry), Paul Cahill (Portsmouth), and Laurie Abrahams (Charlton Athletic), and at San Clemente High School coached by Mike Pronier.
After High School, Coach Carey joined the United States Marine Corps where he proudly severed with Marine Light Helicopter Squadron 267 (HMLA – 267), from 1994-1999
Carey holds a USSF National C, NFHS and NSCAA Level 6 coaching licenses
